Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed have stressed that the killing of Major Sinha Md Rashed Khan will not create a rift between the two forces.

The two chiefs made the remarks during a joint press conference at the Army Bungalow in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday (August 05).

General Aziz Ahmed said that the army and the police have always worked shoulder to shoulder. What happened is, of course, shocking to both the army and police. But we want to see it as an isolated incident.”

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed said that Police and army have been working together in all crises, throughout the pandemic and in the flood situation now. I request to look at death as an isolated incident.

Some people are trying to make it police vs army argument. Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Army are skilled forces. They will not give in to such provocations, he added.
